Our answers to your questions
When was the Pré Germain built?
We do not know exactly when the house was built. It probably dates from two distinct periods, part of it dating from the 18th century. The Napoleonic land register lists other buildings that have since disappeared. This house has obviously been extensively remodelled over time. The surface area of the property has shrunk over time and no longer corresponds to the number of bolts existing in the dovecote. The property now comprises 5 ha.
Is Beurizot a safe village?
The canton of Montbard, to which Beurizot belongs, has almost zero annual delinquency. Beurizot is a perfectly quiet village where theft and aggression are non-existent since we have this house.
Is the park enclosed?
No, the park is not entirely enclosed. We are in the countryside and most of the spaces are partly open (which among other things is a way to make it easier for neighbours to meet each other).
In practice, if you have very young children, supervision is still necessary.
How do I get to Beurizot?
Beurizot is 10 minutes south of the A6 motorway (exit Pouilly en Auxois), 20 minutes north (exit Bièrre les Semur).
By TGV, Montbard is 1 hour from Paris and it takes 35/40 minutes by car between Montbard and Beurizot.
